Month starts and source status

An official label applies only to a month start supported by an announcement in our dataset. Other months remain provisional; they are not a newly published official calendar.

How to read the Hijri Gregorian 1447 table

Use the month links to jump to the part of 1447 you need. The Hijri column uses the order year-month-day: 1447-09-01 means the first day of Ramadan, the ninth Hijri month. The Gregorian column uses the same order. Keeping both columns numeric makes the daily reference easier to scan on a phone and avoids confusion between day-first and month-first date formats. The column headings identify which calendar each date belongs to.

You can read the Hijri Gregorian 1447 table in either direction. If a record gives a Hijri date, find that value in the first column and read across. If a diary gives a Gregorian date, use your browser’s Find command to locate the value in the second column. The surrounding rows let you check whether an event falls before or after a month boundary. All rows are already in the page; searching does not depend on loading a result from a server.

For example, look for 1447-09-01 to find Ramadan’s start under this page’s country basis. Then compare the month’s source status below the table. That status is attached to the beginning of the month, not to a separate sighting for every daily row. A calculated row cannot become an official announcement simply because the daily sequence is complete. Keep the country and source note when sharing an extracted date.

Hijri Gregorian 1447 and the roughly 11-day yearly drift

The Hijri Gregorian 1447 comparison spans parts of 2025 and 2026 because a lunar year does not line up with a January-to-December year. Twelve lunar months normally produce 354 or 355 days. A Gregorian year contains 365 days, or 366 in a leap year. The difference is usually about 10 or 11 days. As a result, the next occurrence of a Hijri month tends to arrive earlier in the Gregorian year.

This yearly drift is different from a one-day disagreement between country calendars. Drift describes the difference between lunar and solar year lengths over time. A local one-day difference describes where an authority placed a particular month’s first day. You cannot fix drift by applying a single day adjustment, and you cannot assume every country remains one day apart for the whole year. A later announced month start may change that relationship.

There is also no fixed offset between the day numbers in the two columns. A 29-day Hijri month may overlap two Gregorian months of 30 or 31 days. When either calendar reaches the next month, its day number restarts while the other continues. Read across the exact row rather than subtracting one printed day number from another. For the following year, use its own month starts; copying this table forward by 365 days would break the Hijri mapping.

Use the daily reference in a spreadsheet or record

The CSV download contains one row for each day of 1447, with Hijri date, Gregorian date, country code and month-start status. It is generated from the same country table as the visible rows. Downloading does not require an account or send your records anywhere. The file uses UTF-8 with a byte-order mark so localized column labels can be opened in common spreadsheet software. Keep an untouched copy before sorting or adding your own notes.

When importing the CSV, set both date columns to text if your spreadsheet tries to reinterpret them. A value such as 1447-09-01 belongs to the Hijri column; treating it as a Gregorian spreadsheet date would change its meaning. Sort the zero-padded values as text to preserve date order within each calendar. If you need calculations, keep the original strings beside any converted spreadsheet values so that an accidental formatting change is easy to spot.

The table is a lookup reference for a complete year. It does not establish the legal date on a certificate or decide a religious observance. For a document, retain the original written date, the relevant country and any evidence about its calendar. If its author followed a different local calendar, compare that source before replacing the date. A one-day uncertainty should remain visible in the note you give the next reader.

Choose the daily table when you need many exact row matches within 1447. Choose the year calendar when you want twelve month summaries, month lengths and major Islamic dates. Choose a converter when your date falls outside this year or you need to compare country settings interactively. These tools answer different questions while using the same underlying month-start records, so a date should agree when its country and adjustment agree.

This published reference stays on its default country basis. The header’s country choice does not rewrite hundreds of static rows or silently change the downloaded file. The country name in the introduction and the country column in the CSV identify the table you are using. For another country, open the converter and select that country explicitly. For religious dates, check the local authority’s announcement even when the table gives a complete daily sequence.
